LLFS's Top 12 Picks for Fall

1//Chelsea Boots: comfy and stylish, what's not to love?! 2//Black distressed denim: wear with everything. 3//Blanket coats: layered on and topped with a belt. 4//Black moto jacket: so versatile, dress it up or down. 5//Faux leather tote: my go-to fall bag, chic and easy. 6//Long cardi: can't wait to rock this with boyfriend jeans or layer over a dress!(bonus in-expensive one) 7//Cozy grey sweater: perfect for layering! 8//Wool hat: can't get enough hats for fall, go floppy or western inspired, whatever...just get yourself a hat. 9//Scarfs: go oversized for a super layered/cozy effect or try something new by tucking it under a belt or sweater a la J. Crew. 10//Shearling: I'm adding shearling to my wardrobe with a lined denim jacket, but it also looks great on a faux leather vest or jacket. 11// 'Fancy' sweatpant; OK,
bear with me here...I have seen so many pictures of ladies rocking these chic versions of a sweatpant, with heels and button up blouses - love it! 12//Faux leather: anything! For real. A pleated midi, a pencil skirt, skinnies, shorts...I could go on and on. I love mixing this sleek texture with the cozy knits of fall.

That was a really fun post to make, creating it has made me even more excited for all the looks I can create this fall with all these great pieces. Did you guys like it? See anything up there you love? Thanks for reading!

Bye Bye Booties

I can't believe it's September already! Fall is upon us, and if my Pinterest board is any indication...I am very excited to start wearing cozy layers. That being said, a part of me is sad to see the summer go...because these booties did not get out enough! Haha. I took advantage of one of our last days of warm weather to rock them with distressed boyfriend jean shorts and a white blouse and blazer. One of my major fashion loves is pairing seemingly contrasting styles to create a put together outfit. I loved the distressed, relaxed style of the shorts in contrast with the more formal style of a button up blouse and blazer. The white on white palette is also something I've been digging lately. I don't think I'll be able to give up the booties quite yet (they're just too good), so I am going try and transition them into my fall wardrobe. Speaking of fall wardrobe...I am working on an exciting new post, something a little different than my usual posts - stay tuned!

Summer in the City

This summer, like many before, has seemed to fly by. More busy with work and less with blog posts than I would have liked, but I did have the occasion to snap a few pics of an outfit I wore to a makeup convention (IMATS) in Vancouver. Makeup is my other love, and the IMATS is a makeup lover's heaven. More brushes and palettes than you've ever seen in your life AND all at pro discount prices. I am not a "pro" but for two days I get to shop like one ;) But enough about makeup, on to the outfit! This outfit was totally inspired by a pin on Pintrest. I was struck by the colour palette:  blue and white  with a pop of red. I instantly was inspired to re-create it with pieces from my wardrobe! I think it turned out great!

I love this city!

Flared + Fabulous

I have a very distinct memory of receiving my first pair of Levi flared jeans when I was a girl. 20-something years later, and I am still loving them. Especially in a light wash and paired with a sky-high wedges for summer. I usually rock them with a flowy, summer-y top but, I decided to switch it up and do something a little more structured on top. The light blue striped button down and white blazer keep with the light, fresh colour palette. A tan bag and shoes are universal warm neutrals for summer. Actually, this whole outfit was based around the necklace. The necklace was a gift from the loveliest of friends. Shout out to Dom! Haha. Love my necklace, and I am wearing it with everythang. I wanted to wear the necklace with the striped button down, and everything else just followed from there. Hope you are all having a wonderful, stylish summer!

LBD: Long Blue Dress

I am loving the cami/lingerie inspired dress silhouettes I've been seeing this summer. I fell in love with this Old Navy maxi version. I loved it so much, I bought it in two colours! In all fairness, there was a sale and I had some coupons :p This was my first styling of it, it was for my birthday dinner. I think the cami/lingerie style makes the dress feel a little bit sexy, so it's perfect for a date outfit. I wanted to keep the easy, flowy feeling of the dress with a long pendant necklace and dainty natural stone necklace. I kept the sandals flat and natural, but still a little glam with the gold accent. The soft, folded black clutch, I chose because it kept with the unstructured nature of the outfit. I felt comfortable and gorgeous all evening! What do you think about this silhouette for dresses?

After all that serious posing, I had to have a little fun...
