Vest Versatility

This is a fun, easy look I put together for a weekend date day and I really love how it turned out! That's not surprising since it's made up of some things I've been really into lately: crop tops, high waists, 70's vibes and this vest. I didn't realize until I picked up this vest, that it was an article of clothing sorely under represented in my closet - and what a tragedy! It is such a versatile layering piece! Maybe because I have been unconsciously connecting them with the over-worn puffer vests of my small town youth, but they have never really held any appeal to me...that is until now. I have seen the vest in a new, modern light and my closet is all the better for it. I have also invested in a sleeveless trench and I am equally in love with it. Follow me on insta-g if you want to see other ways to style these pieces :)

I could walk 500 miles..

I love this post! I am so into this cool sneaker trend for so many reasons! First, it totally lets me play with my love of mixing things up: casual sneakers with classic coats or sleek faux leather pants or minis - love it! Secondly, it is always awesome when something looks great and FEELS comfortable to wear. Although I love my heels, I will be the first to confess...they don't always last so long on my feet. But these cool kicks...I could walk shop for miles in 'em! Typical me, I couldn't choose between these two pairs, so I had to get both. They're such a versatile, fun addition to my wardrobe and I am so excited about all the outfits I can add them to, but for now here are two looks I've created so far - hope you like 'em!

Black + Yellow.

I was up to my ol' print mixing ways this week. There's a real art to it, ya know. It's not as easy as some fashionistas make it look. You've got to have an eye for it. Now, I am not saying that I am one of these fashionistas, but man do I like to try! It's a great feeling when you make that unexpected match that just works. I've had a lot of fun mixing and matching with these window pane print trousers. The monogram necklace is new (gift from the best sister ever, thanks Shmiss!) and I am excited about styling it with my other jewelry. Here I paired it with a bold statement necklace. I like it! What do you think?

Preppy Date Night

I fell in love with the bright, preppy print on these shorts the minute I spotted them (at the grocery store, thanks Joe Fresh!). I paired them with an equally structured and classic white button down. I love it's almost mesh like material; it's that perfect extra detail. I'm totally into the mini bag trend right now, so I grabbed a fresh, white clutch. I added wedges because it was date night, but I think the outfit would be just as cute with some flat, leather sandals for a more casual look :)

Inner Bohemian

I find it very hard to define my "style". I could never pick one look and wear it forever. I guess that's one of my favorite things about fashion: I can change up my look every single day. Maybe I want to be preppy one day, with lots of structure and clean lines, but the next day I can be free and float-y and bohemian. And my inner bohemian has a thing for pantsuits. Seriously. They always catch my eye when I see them in stores and I couldn't say no to this one. I loved the print and the flow-y legs. I think the pantsuit can be a little intimidating, maybe because it's a little outside one's comfort zone, but it's soooo easy to wear. Top and bottom, BAM! Instant outfit :) I wanted this look to be casual, so I paired it with some easy, neutral wedges and the infamous jean jacket.
